Team building day

Stuck for an idea for your team awayday? After years of helping teams up and down the country we can give you dozens of ideas and options for a successful session outline. Whether you want just a half day or a whole day we can get your team focusing upon the things that matter in an informal friendly climate. You might want to get them problem solving or simply get them having a great time together getting to know other team members away from the workplace.
An outside facilitator can take the strain away from team leaders who can relax and enjoy the day themselves and an added service we give is that we always take away those flip charts full of ideas and type them up for you. As with everything that we do, we will tailor the session to match your objectives and needs which can be centred around the following:together.

A suggested awayday format

  • Opening energiser
  • How well do we know each other?
  • What are our strengths? (and secrets?)
  • What makes a good team? What are the characteristics of a successful team?
  • How does our team match up?
  • What makes a good team member? How do we match up?
  • Where do we fall short?
  • Another energiser activity
The brain gym - getting the brain to work….warm-up exercises
  • Creative thinking techniques and tools
  • Group activity requiring teamwork, innovation and effective communication
  • Communicating with each other - interactive drama session
  • Action planning. What are we going to do differently as a result of today?

“Getting to know you” activities

  • Working together
  • Identifying strengths and qualities
  • Focusing upon what each member actually does
  • Their roles and responsibilities
  • Their expectations of others

Focusing upon working together as a team

  • Problem solving activities (indoor or outdoor)
  • Identifying ways of improving communications within the team and between teams
  • Highlighting ways in which operations can be made more streamlined and efficient

Focusing upon having fun together

  • Indoor activities- artistic exercises, improvised drama, poetry, art
  • African or samba drumming
    Juggling
  • Script writing and acting
  • Creative thinking
  • Impro skills
  • Scratch panto
  • Interactive theatre

Film in a day Teambuilder
A great new idea to bring a team together. Write, star, direct, act and edit your own film or commercial. See it on the screen and keep the DVD - all in a day. Everyone has a part to play and everyone is important. It’s great fun and you’ll also learn a lot about how films are made and you’ll look at cinema and TV in a new way. A great way to get everyone working together

  • Who does what in film making - assign your roles
  • Getting from script to story board
  • Basics of filming - how to film your film
  • Rolling - Action - Cut. Doing your scenes
  • Editing. Getting your scenes into computer so it all makes sense.
  • Adding titles, music and sound effects
  • Premiere. See it all on screen.
  • Reviews. How did it all go for the team
